What is inclusion in the workplace?

  3. Using Inclusive Language: Use language that is inclusive and respectful of all individuals, avoiding terms or phrases that may be discriminatory or exclusionary.

  4. Reflecting Everyone's Needs: Consider the diverse needs and preferences of employees in everyday gatherings, events, and activities to ensure that everyone feels included and represented.

  5. Providing Safe Spaces: Create a safe and supportive environment where employees feel comfortable voicing their concerns, sharing their experiences, and seeking support when needed.

  6. Facilitating Ongoing Feedback: Encourage open and transparent communication by providing opportunities for ongoing feedback and dialogue between employees and leadership.

  7. Employee Resource Groups: Establish employee resource groups or affinity networks that provide a platform for employees to connect, share experiences, and advocate for diversity and inclusion within the organization.

  8. Offering Accommodations: Provide accommodations for employees with disabilities, language barriers, mental health needs, and other challenges to ensure equal access and opportunities for all individuals.

By taking these actions, organizations can create a culture of inclusion where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents.
